I began my photgraphic journey in High School in California studying under Janis Miglavs who was an inspirational teacher, mentor and world traveler. I began travelling, Rock Climbing and Mountaineering in my teen years in the Sierra Nevada and throughout the western states of America, eventually living in Alaska for several years. I furthered my photographic experience after meeting a commercial photographer, Edgar Praus, in Glacier Bay, Alaska and becoming his assistant. I helped him build a commercial studio in Rochester, New York. This gave me invaluable experience in working with traditional darkroom techniques in both black-and-white and color production environments that was the basis for my evolution into professional digital photographic techniques.

I have since traveled and written widely on topics relating to wine, food and travel. I have been pubished in periodicals, trade magazines, calendars and corporate collections.
